Samsung finally unveiled the new Galaxy S7 Edge in Barcelona on Sunday the 21^st of February, what did the company improve in the Galaxy S Edge series?

Before getting into details, we must mention that the company will start taking orders for the Galaxy S7 Edge the upcoming days in Europe and America, while releasing it to the market on the 11^th March 2016, with prices reaching 882 USD (625 JOD’s) before taxes.

More Curves, Hi-Tech Specifications

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge came with more curved corners with the length of 150.9mm, 72.6mm width, and 7.7mm thickness weighing 157 grams.

It has a 5.5 inch screen with a resolution of 1440x2560 MP made of Super AMOLED screen covered in a layer of the scratch and break resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. The curved screen on the phone’s edge is still the best feature in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The company improved the performance for the screen side menu known as ‘Edge Panel’ by creating important shortcuts for emails, panorama, and other applications for easier access. And just like the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge is water and dust resistant withstanding a depth up to 1.5 m for 30 minutes.

Galaxy S7 Edge is supposed to be released with the following colors: white, black, gold, rose gold, and silver.

Strong Processors for an Exceptional Performance!

The processors used by Samsung for their new phones aimed to improve mobile gaming; especially people who download large games on their smartphones, giving a big importance for the cooling system inserted which will stabilize the temperature, and a bigger battery life. They also added a ‘Game Launcher’ specification in which the user can control battery usage and receive notifications from other application for an extraordinary gaming experience.

The company also improved the system functions guaranteeing a 30% better experience than its previous version. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will be released with two processors depending on the country and service provider.

The first Galaxy S7 Edge will be operating on a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 made from two dual core processors: one working on a 2.15 GH and the other on 1.6 GH. As for the second option, it will be operating on an eight core Exynos 8890 made from two quad-core processors: one operating on a 2.3 GH and the other on 1.6 GH.

It will also be available in two internal storages: 32 GB and 64 GB with the ability to add an external memory card (up to 200 GB), and a 4 GB RAM.

The rear (main) camera has a 12MP resolution and an f/1.7 lens aperture, and the front camera is 5MP with an f/1.7 lens aperture as well. What is improved about the camera is that it operates on a Dual Pixel technology for capturing better images in dim lights.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a 3600 mAh non-removable battery.

It operates on a 6.0 Android version (Marshmallow).

The Galaxy S7 Edge also has Always-on Display, TouchWiz UI (like Samsung Galaxy S7), Fast charging (83% in 30 minutes), wireless charging, and many other features like editing and publishing texts, documents, images, and videos.

The company announced after presenting Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge that will start collaborating with Facebook to create the Gear VR.
